Awel-y-Mynydd sits in genuine countryside — a converted barn set on 26 acres near Talsarnau, roughly three miles north of Harlech along the Cardigan Bay coast. The surrounding farmland gives the property an unhurried, rural character that contrasts with the busier parts of the Harlech area, while still keeping the main attractions within easy reach. The sea views from the property look out across Tremadog Bay towards the Llŷn Peninsula.
Breakfast at Awel is worth arriving hungry for. Eggs come from the hens kept on site, and the full Welsh breakfast makes for a proper start before a day on the hills or the beach. The accommodation itself offers twin and double en-suite rooms, with Snowdonia National Park essentially on the doorstep — the Rhinog mountains rise directly to the east, and the Wales Coast Path passes through the area for those who prefer to walk at sea level.
