Harlech Castle is naturally protected on three sides by cliffs and the extensive fortifications make the castle into an impregnable fortress. It took nearly one thousand men seven years to construct (1283-1290).
Harlech Castle is set high on the cliffs overlooking Tremadog Bay, North Wales. It is the most dramatically sited of all the Castles built by King Edward I, and designed by James of St George.
