Portmeirion Village |
Portmeirion village is situated between Porthmadog and Harlech. It is surrounded by the Gwyllt woodland gardens containing many rare Himalayan flowering trees and other exotics. Sir Clough Williams-Ellis built Portmeirion between 1925 to 1972 just 5 miles from his ancestral home. Portmeirion is open daily and contains a hotel, restaurant and several interesting shops. Portmeirion was the setting for the 1960's cult television series 'The Prisoner'.
