Woodlands Caravan Park

Small family park at the foot of Harlech Castle — static, touring and holiday cottage

Caravan Park

Woodlands is a small, select family park for both static and touring caravans, situated at the foot of Harlech Castle — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle provides an impressive backdrop. Located within the Snowdonia National Park, it is an ideal base from which to explore the area.

The Touring Park has a separate, newly built heated amenity building with WCs, washbasins, showers, dishwashing facilities and a small launderette. Each touring pitch has a 10-amp electrical hook-up and all pitches are level and easily accessible.

Also available to let: a recently refurbished two-bedroom holiday cottage with storage heating and all bed linen included; and a two-bedroom static caravan. Within short walking distance: Harlech Beach (Blue Flag), the town centre, Theatre Ardudwy, the swimming pool with sauna and solarium, Royal St David’s Golf Club and Harlech Castle.

About Woodlands Caravan Park

Woodlands Caravan Park occupies a position directly below Harlech Castle, with the castle rock rising above the site and views of the UNESCO World Heritage fortress as a constant backdrop. The park sits adjacent to Royal St David's Golf Course — one of the top 50 links courses in Great Britain and Ireland — which means golfers can be on the first tee within minutes of leaving their caravan without needing a car. The beach is accessible on foot through the dunes, a fifteen to twenty minute walk through one of the finest dune systems on the Welsh coast.

The site is small and friendly in character, which distinguishes it from the larger holiday parks further along the Cardigan Bay coast. Harlech town centre, with its restaurants, pubs, cafes, and the castle itself, is a short walk uphill — the town's independent food scene, led by Bryn Williams' Michelin Bib Gourmand bistro and the Old Cheese Market deli, makes the location more interesting than a typical caravan park position.

For families and couples who want the flexibility and economy of caravan holidays combined with access to a genuinely outstanding location, Woodlands provides the combination of convenience and setting that more remote caravan sites can't match. Portmeirion is twenty minutes by car; Porthmadog and the Ffestiniog Railway are nine miles north. The Rhinog mountains, offering wild walking in one of the least-visited corners of Eryri National Park, are accessible by car within fifteen minutes of the site.
