Gwrach Ynys is the ideal base for touring and exploring the wonders of Snowdonia and North Wales - only an hour's journey by car is the Lleyn Peninsula, Anglesey, Caernarfon, Betws-y-Coed, Bala, Dolgellau, but guest often remark on the diversity of attractions on our doorstep. At Harlech, the spectacularly sited Castle is certainly worth a visit. Golfers are well catered for at the Royal St David's Golf Course, the beach is a haven with its three miles of golden sands. Visit the Italiante village of Portmeirion take a ride on the Ffestiniog railway, or explore the surrounding countryside - a paradise for nature lovers and walkers, Dozens of footpath criss cross the area offering a multitude of walks, stiff climbs to gentle rambles, coastal strolls to woodland trails, something to suite all tastes, the choice is endless. The house is roomy
and spacious with a choice of two lounges and a separate dining room
where Deborah will serve her choice of breakfasts to set you up for
the day. Breakfast is served between 8.00am and 9.00am but if you
would like an earlier breakfast please let us know the previous
evening and it can be arranged. We offer a wide choice menu using
quality local products.
The bedrooms are
en-suite and tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard.
From each bedroom guest can enjoy rural views over the garden to the
hills beyond. Each bedroom is well appointed with, colour TV, tea
making facilities, hair dryers, clock radio, Wi Fi internet
connection plus other little extras. There are 7 bedrooms - 3
family, 2 double and 1 twin and 1 single. One family room can
accommodate 4 persons — 2 adults and 2 children in a double bed and
full size bunk beds while the other 2 family rooms has a double bed
and a single bed and is suitable for 2 adults and 1 child. These
rooms can also be let as double or twin rooms to suite guests'
requirements.
Gwynfor and Deborah
are born in the area, are native Welsh speakers, and are always on
hand to help you make the most of your time with us. Both are keen
walkers and enjoy sharing their extensive knowledge of the
surrounding area. We have been running Gwrach Ynys as a guesthouse
for the past 25 years, and have had the pleasure of welcoming guests
from all over the globe into our home.
